Title: “Was Jack the Ripper a Freemason?”
Topic: The mysterious case of Jack the Ripper continues to entice both
scholars and sleuths. This program contextualizes the time and place of
the notorious 1888 London murder spree and explores the identity of the
killer’s victims. Through the technique of geographical profiling, a criminal
investigation methodology, our presenter examines the murder suspects
and posits the identity of Jack the Ripper and his relationship
to Freemasonry.
Presenter: James Stargel, Royal Order of Scotland, Tall Cedars,
Knights Templar
James Stargel, retired Sergeant Major of the Army Military Police and
federal government employee for over 26 years, is President-elect of the
Board of Inspectors of the Grand Lodge of Maryland. Mr. Stargel served
two years as Worshipful Master of the Mount Airy, MD, Masonic Lodge.
Currently, Mr. Stargel teaches martial arts. He has presented his research
on Jack the Ripper in London, U.K. and at the University of Tennessee.
