Distinguished Presentation: “Josephine Baker:  Erotic Dancer, Entertainer, WWII Hero, Humanitarian, Mason”

Josephine Baker was an American-born French singer, dancer, actress, resistance fighter in World War II, and civil rights leader who spoke at the 1963 March on Washington at the side of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  This presentation will focus on her life including the fact she was a Mason.  It should be a fascinating presentation accompanied by photographs, video and other supporting material.

Brother Benesch’s Masonic career is extensive going back more than 30 years.  He is a Past Master of Lafayette-Dupont #19 in DC and Archer Bailey Gay Lodge in VA, Scottish Rite KCCH & Dean of History in the Valley of Washington, KYCH in VA, current Illustrious Master Adoniram (Zabud Council No. 2., DC), Royal Arch Captain and Lecturer (Mt. Vernon RAC #14, VA) and officer in the Washington, D.C. College of Masonic Societas Rosicrusiana In Civitatibus Federatis.  He is President and long-time supporter of the George Washington Masonic Stamp Club.
